I’m Catherine Cirzan, a Brooklyn-based artist who has been practicing ceramics for the last 8 years. Through finding my love of ceramics, I’ve learned that what I enjoy most about the process is sharing my art with others. Through showcasing my art, I am able to emphasize the importance of artistic expression. My hope is that my creations can create a ripple of inspiration, spreading my love of art to others.

I fell in love with wheel throwing while attending Northern Arizona University receiving my Bachelors of Science in Art Education. Upon graduating as the outstanding Senior of the College of Arts and Letters, I set out to become an artist in the real world. This led me to Brooklyn, NY in 2023. Since then, I have immersed myself in the artistic sphere.

Through every new experience, I seek to find meaning to what I create. What matters most, who I am creating for, and what gives me drive and purpose. All of these led me to find a blend of creativity, vulnerability, and purpose. Drawing from elements of nature, historical motifs, and functionality give me a way to express this. I find joy in making things that can be inserted into daily life, and maybe make it a little more interesting or special. Getting to be a part of that for others is what motivates me.
